The trial version of EASY-FIT^ModelDesign is available for free download. This trial version is identical to the full version of EASY-FIT^ModelDesign, but with data and model size restrictions. The trial version runs under Microsoft Windows Vista or earlier and is fully documented by interactive, context-sensitive help and comes with 1,300 test examples. The trial version restrictions are removed using an activation key supplied at the time of purchase.

Download EASYFIT.EXE into a temporary directory then execute the self-extracting file. Please see the Installation Notes below for additional installation considerations.

Installation Notes

• EASY-FIT^ModelDesign comes with the royalty-free run-time version of Microsoft Access 2003 and runs under Windows Vista or earlier. Usually, the installation is stable and you should not expect any conflicts with existing Access versions. However, there might be a message of the form

  "Missing Shortcut: Windows is searching for LaunchAccess.exe. To locate the file by yourself, click Browse."

  The file is found in the installation directory of EASY-FIT^ModelDesign. You can either wait until Windows locates this file, or browse to the directory yourself. You would have to do this only once.
   

• If the language settings of your Windows system (Start -> Control Panel -> Regional Options) are different from a Western European language, it might happen that EASY-FIT^ModelDesign stops with an error message. We are still trying to understand this. For the moment, please change the set up, preferably to US English.
   
• To replace an existing version of EASY-FIT^ModelDesign, please proceed as follows:
  1. Export all problems from the old version which you would like to save, into an auxiliary folder.
  2. It is recommended to save the database file EASY_FIT.MDE and all files problems\*.FUN, problems\*.FOR, respectively.
  3. Remove the old version (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs).
  4. Delete the installation folder, e.g., C\:EASYFIT.
  5. Install the new version of EASY-FIT^ModelDesign and start the program.
  6. Import all problems exported according to Step 1 (File -> Import).
